The Sussex Tech Drama Program Presents: Get Smart on May 2nd & 3rd

The Drama Program proudly presents their Spring Play, Get Smart, on May 2nd and 3rd, at 6:30pm in the Sussex Tech Commons Area.

This is a delightful comedy that entirely satirizes the secret agent genre from start to finish.  Many will recognize the production from the hit 1960’s TV series of the same name, and you will be pleased to hear that this show is the perfect marriage of the very first two episodes combined into one script.

It follows Agent 86, Maxwell Smart, as he watches over Professor Dante and aims to protect the scientist’s recent invention, The Inthermo, from getting into the hands of KAOS, the international organization of evil. Meanwhile, KAOS‘s leader, Mr. Big, has dropped out of the public eye just as a mysterious string of kidnapped blondes unfolds in the area.  Is this KAOS plot merely a rouse?  Or is something far more sinister in the works? Out of concerns for the country’s national security, The Chief, head of CONTROL headquarters, appoints Agent 99 to work alongside Maxwell Smart and bring both cases to a close…hopefully.

Our production is filled with countless instances of slapstick comedy, dry humor, and ostentatious characterization that will have you giggling in your seat until the very end.  It is a quirky, modernized take on a famed classic that you simply will not want to miss.

The Commons Area will be transformed into an in-house Blackbox Theater to host the two evening performances at 6:30pm next Thursday and Friday, May 2nd and 3rd.

Tickets will be $5 a person and can be bought inside prior to the show.
