Honor Society

Sussex Tech has an active chapter of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society. Eligible students will receive a letter of eligibility each summer, and must complete the request form below to be considered for membership.

There will be a mandatory parent/student meeting on Monday, September 14, at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Please bring your request form with you, as we will be sharing strategies for completing this form. The Advisors will be on hand for any questions and concerns. The completed request form will be due on Thursday, October 1. Our committee will review the request forms and candidates will be notified by letter shortly thereafter of the decision. If the chapter membership is granted there will be an Induction Ceremony, which is tentatively planned for Friday, October 23, at 9 a.m.

Members of both academic societies must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 93 percent or better all four years and participate in a variety of community service activities to receive a sash and cord at graduation.

Officers are Joseph Favorso III, co-president; Brenna Hummel, co-president; and Lizbeth Cortez-Galindo, treasurer.  Chapter advisors are Jean Johnson (mathematics) and Nancy Massaro (health professions).

Fifty-seven students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society and the National Honor Society at Sussex Technical High School in the fall of 2018.
