Re: Lead and Copper Rule Sampling Results
Sussex Technical School District; PWS ID#: DE0000291

Dear Hud,

The Office of Drinking Water (ODW) has received the most recent round of lead and copper monitoring results for Sussex Technical School District. ODW has calculated your 90th percentile values at 0.0033 mg/L for lead and 1.2 mg/L for copper. The reported results do not exceed the 90th percentile standard of 0.015 mg/L for lead or the 90th percentile standard of 1.3 mg/L for copper and meets all federal and state requirements.

In addition to your sampling results, ODW has also received your Lead Consumer Notice Certification forms. As a result, Sussex Technical School District has met the monitoring and reporting requirements for the June 1-September 30, 2020 monitoring period.

Sussex Technical School District is now eligible for further reduced monitoring status. To remain compliance, Sussex Technical School District may begin monitoring on a triennial (every 3-years) lead and copper tap water monitoring schedule with the next round of ten (10) lead and copper tap samples to be collected between June 1 and September 30, 2023. These results should be reported to ODW no later than October 10, 2023. Failure to perform monitoring according according to the “State of Delaware Regulations Governing Public Water Symptoms,” or failure to report results by October 10, 2023, will result in a violation as stated in Section of the aforementioned regulations.
