Collision Repair Technologies provides students with exposure and training in the significant aspects of the auto body repair profession including replacing and repairing, detailing, tear-down and reassembly procedures, and preparation and refinishing of new and repaired parts. Instruction will also involve an overview of shop safety, power hand tools, and industry-standard auto collision equipment. Students will learn the fundamentals of automotive surface preparation, painting and refinishing, non-structure analysis, UNI-body/frame repair, and removing/replacing panels.
By the completion of this Collision Repair Technologies, students will also understand painting techniques, dent repair, plastic shaping, primer application, fundamentals of paint mixing, and painting with waterborne and solvent-based paints. Students follow all ASE and I-CAR standards in a state-of-the-art facility. Students will have the opportunity to participate in local, state, and national SkillsUSA competitions, earn ASE and I-CAR certifications and in their senior year, they will have the opportunity to join Work-Based Learning (WBL) in the community.
