Rapid Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical Training 
$200 Electricians tool kit included! 

Pre-Apprenticeship Training is the first step toward a career in the skilled trades.  This foundational course will cover Core Curriculum used in the apprenticeship training while exploring the skilled trades Sussex Tech has to offer.  Students will gain experience in core, electrical theory, and includes OSHA 10 training.  Upon completion, course hours can be applied for advanced placement into year one apprenticeship training.  Classes start July 7th.  

Free tuition, and job placement services are included in the 90 hours and may be available for qualified individuals through the CARES Act. For more information, please contact Mike Hague: 302-856-9035 or

Class hours include: 10 hours OSHA-10 (homework), 8 hours homework and 72 hours classwork, and a tool kit for qualified individuals. 

 

ESL Rapid Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Trades/Facilities Maintenance Training 

$200 Maintenance tool kit included!

This course utilizes bilingual instruction to teach English language learners (ELL) the skills needed to become an entry-level tradesperson. The components of this program are designed to provide an introduction to a wide range of skilled trades. Students will gain skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry. These skills are needed in order to maintain the many operating systems at various facilities and to start a career in the trades. Upon completion, course hours can be applied for advanced placement into year one apprenticeship training. These classes are restricted to 15 students and fill up fast. Classes start July 7th.

Free tuition, and job placement services are included in the 82 hours and may be available for qualified individuals through the CARES Act. Class hours include 72 hours classwork, and 10 hours OSHA (homework).

 Classes run July 7 - August 17, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.  Free training program opportunities are made possible by grant funding through the Delaware Department of Labor. The funding is intended to help the unemployed, underemployed, and populations affected by COVID-19. Seating is limited. Candidates must meet basic eligibility requirements, which include but are not limited to:

Availability for regular attendance each class
Possession of a Social Security card
Proof of birthdate and US residency (Photo ID)
The desire to work full-time
